The Samalaju Township was conceived to support the Samalaju Industrial Park (SIP) which is one of the five growth nodes identified in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE) development plan 2030.

The preparation of the Samalaju Master Land Use Zoning Plan follows a comprehensive and systematic approach. It aims to align with the project vision, optimize land use, define roles and responsibilities for land management, establish project phases, and include structured business, financing, and marketing plans.
